Surge XT offers a broad sound-design workspace combining several synthesis techniques, a substantial filter selection and an integrated effects system. Its community-maintained project also documents expressive control and tuning features. The official project site is the reference for releases, supported builds and the open-source license; repository activity alone should not be mistaken for a new stable release.
