Understand the instrument and the player
Sample libraries can have different player, registration and host requirements even when they cover similar musical territory. A library that requires the full Kontakt application is not interchangeable with one licensed for Kontakt Player.
Confirm the specific library’s official requirements, disk-space needs and installation process. Compare the articulation and performance controls relevant to the part you want to write; a large sample count alone does not describe how an instrument will fit an arrangement.
