At its core, Serum 2 is a hybrid synthesis powerhouse — not just a wavetable synth anymore. Alongside the iconic, now even more refined wavetable oscillator (featuring smooth interpolation for near-infinite frame positions, dual warps, and expanded FM/PD/ring mod/distortion options), you now get a full toolkit of synthesis engines under one roof: a Granular Oscillator for atmospheric fragmentation and texture, a Spectral Oscillator for real-time harmonic resynthesis and advanced timestretching, and a Sample Oscillator with SFZ multi-sample support, snap loop detection, sample slicing, and tape-stop rate control. That’s five independent sound sources — Wavetable A & B, Sample/Granular/Spectral, Sub, and Noise — all working together or independently.
The workflow has been completely rethought too. A brand-new Mixer section gives you a full channel view for every oscillator, filter, FX bus, and master — no more wrestling with the old signal flow. The modulation system is as deep and visual as ever, and the new CLIP module brings a built-in piano roll with DAW-synced MIDI sequencing and a saveable clip bank, turning Serum 2 into a one-stop creative environment.
Sound shaping goes further than ever with 11 new filter types including classic analog emulations, multiple independent FX buses, and dramatically upgraded effects including richer reverbs, delays, and more. Up to 16-voice unison per oscillator, MPE support, arpeggiator, and an included library of 626+ presets and 288 wavetables round out a plugin that is equally at home designing deep film scores, crushing bass music, or lush ambient textures.
Version 2.1.2 brings stability refinements, bug fixes for FX routing, improved wavetable loading behavior, Spectral Oscillator loop modulation fixes, and improved FL Studio compatibility — making this the most polished Serum 2 release yet.
